I finally graduate from Marshall May 15th 2009. At that point I will move away from here, most likely to Pittsburgh. The new start that I have gotten in my life lately has inspired me to become the person I want to be before I move away from here. I will always be a work in progress but here are my goals before I graduate.
Be physically in shape: I weight 250 now at 6′4″ and that is down from 287 at the beginning of the year. I hope to be around 210 by the time I leave here and in shape. My fitness goals are: strength, flexibility, and endurance. I would like to find a yoga class around either Huntington or St. Albans and do that for the flexibility, free weights for strength, and continue my running to build my endurance.
I will finish this blog later…

So I was playing some Call of Duty 4 on my Xbox 360 tonight and I realized that im just wasting my time. I enjoy playing video games but tonight it just didn’t seem right. I just realized that instead of doing the things in life that I need to do to reach my potential, I am sitting idle. The video games aren’t the problem, they have their time and place. But instead of just sitting and doing that, I could be doing something real. I mean, I could learn to shoot a gun accurately in real life etc. Everything that I play video games for (the ability to travel to exotic locations, to experience something that I don’t have the ability to do) can be accomplished in reality.
It is not about that old idea that video games rot your brain. Many games are much like chess, they require stategy and foresight. I don’t know I guess I am playing the wrong games. I need to install Sim City 4 on my computer again, play the advance wars games I own, and maybe pick up a copy of one of the “Civilization” games. Those type of games are very satisfying in that I get to use my head to analyze the situation and make decisions. I feel accomplished when I finally beat the map in Advance wars or I find the perfect balance of taxes, public transit etc. to have a beautiful yet functional city in Sim City 4. I am just so very tired of shooting things. In just about every game you must walk around with a gun and shoot some things. It is fine if it is part of a story such as Mass Effect. I guess what I am really tired of is the multiplayer shooters.
So, I am sooooo done with them!
